Women’s Support & Empowerment
In rural DRC, women carry immense responsibilities yet often have limited access to resources, education, or income opportunities. Empowering women transforms entire communities.
We offer practical, income-generating training in:

Literacy for Women: We provide women in South Kivu with the chance to learn to read and write – opening doors to opportunities.

Education Support for Children: We cover school fees and uniforms where these cannot be afforded.
Tailoring and Dressmaking: Skills for creating clothing and running small tailoring businesses.

- Culinary Arts: Supporting small food enterprises through cooking and baking skills.
- Brick-Making: Providing technical skills for construction, a growing sector in the region.

- Income-Generating Activities (IGA): Supporting small business startups with training and mentorship.
- Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA): Helping women create savings networks and access local financing without relying on banks.

Health & Well-being
In rural Congo, the health system remains fragile, maternal and child mortality rates are high, and malnutrition is widespread. FDN addresses health needs by providing:
- Family Planning Education: Promoting informed choices around reproduction and family size.
- HIV/AIDS Prevention and Awareness: Supporting testing, reducing stigma, and providing education.
- Nutrition Programs: Combating hunger and malnutrition with community-based initiatives.
- Sexual and Reproductive Health Education: Offering essential health knowledge to adolescents and adults.
- Malnutrition Prevention and Treatment: Supporting vulnerable populations with early interventions and nutrition education.

Youth Empowerment
Young people in South Kivu often grow up with few educational or employment opportunities, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation, violence, and despair. Our youth programs aim to:
- Offer Vocational Training: Skills that enable youth to find jobs or create businesses.
- Promote Entrepreneurship: Encouraging innovation and small business creation among young people.
- Develop Leadership: Cultivating responsible, civic-minded future leaders.
- Create Opportunities for Engagement: Helping youth find positive pathways instead of destructive ones.

Gender Equity and Peacebuilding
Gender inequality and conflict have left deep scars across the DRC, but communities can heal and rebuild.
